When a new site is created (during sign up) the system makes the new site and the user but they cannot use the software until they are activated by PSL.

 

Activating a Site

To activate a site you must have PSL admin rights.

 

Login to GuildLink and choose PSL Admin. Select the site and click the Activate button.

 

What happens next?

When a site is activated the site admin will be granted access to GuildLink and AuditLink (the system adds them to the corresponding security roles). The Site is also marked as active. Finally, the user is emailed telling them that they have been activated. Now the user can login and start creating data.

 

So why do we have activation?

If the system let new registrations immediately start adding data, in no time we would have hundreds of would be hackers trying to gain access to the system. Whilst no system is completely unbreakable, this is a very prudent step.

 

Setting the Account information

Now is a good time to set the member # and account code for the site. Simple click the edit button, enter the details and choose Save.

 

Suggestion_16x16The account info will used for billing and reporting. Setting the account code to TEST will make them a non charged account - testers etc.
